Please join the Gender Matters Taskforce and Screen Australia for breakfast on Tuesday October 8th at 8 am, to celebrate the gamemakers featured as part of the Local Lounge Gender Matters Showcase at GCAP.

Gender Matters is the umbrella name of Screen Australia’s efforts to address the underrepresentation of women and gender-diverse practitioners in the Australian screen industry, including the games sector. As a part of these efforts, the Gender Matters Taskforce is a volunteer-based advisory body that assists Screen Australia to develop pathways, find opportunities, and brainstorm solutions towards intersectionality-aware gender parity. This year, the Gender Matters Taskforce is excited to partner with Screen Australia’s Games team to highlight and support gender-diverse-led teams across the games showcased in the Local Lounge in GCAP.

Breakfast will be served from 8 am to 9:30 am in the Screen Australia Local Lounge.

Come meet some new folks, play some new games, network with potential future collaborators, and talk to attending members from Screen Australia and the Gender Matters Taskforce.
